Violet Bird est né en 2008 à l'initiative de Leeloo (chant) et Barclau (guitare). Le groupe est entré en studio en février 2010 pour enregistrer un album folk/rock: Are you alone.
En 2012 le groupe a enregistré l'ep de trip rock Happy Sadness qui présente plusieurs facettes du groupe en six morceaux, combinant énergie rock et ambition mélodique, guidé par l'envoûtante et puissante voix de Leeloo.
